Everything I’ve loved last month #1
Remembering Chamonix (two months late)
We were back in Chamonix, where I first did my Alpine winter climb and learned how to ski. It is also where I explored with Atlas when she was a tiny baby and celebrated her birthday when she was one year old. Chamonix is very special to me and to us.
This time, we came to Chamonix with H's climbing partner and girlfriend. We stayed in Chamonix town, which is always lush, as everything is on our doorstep. It is even better when a family-friendly sport crag, Les Gaillands, is near us. I was delighted that I climbed a few times with our friends on H's rest day. Atlas watched us all climb, making her want to do the same. Seeing her walk around with my helmet and harness was so cute.
We were in Chamonix for a good two weeks. Henry was out climbing while I explored the city and mountains with Atlas, my favourite partner in crime. Having her has made me more resilient. She made me realise my limit, and I usually can go further even in hot weather. She is definitely on board when it comes to adventure. Of course, it comes with a few no's from her.
We went back to our favourite restaurant, Mumma, in Chamonix. I remember celebrating Atlas's first birthday there. Next door, they have an outdoor bar called Le Shack that opens for lunch and dinner.
Chamonix farmers market: I can never miss a farmers market. After living in Paris for a year, I have always loved the French market and the vegetables and fruits are always so fresh.
Of course, it's a treat at QC Terme. It's nice to relax and read.
